Long Live - John Miller - 12 Dec 2011 ![]() "Long live, all the mountains we moved.
I had the time of my life... with you." Since they had that fight in the Common Room, when Claire had desperately tried to make up her relationship with him, John had ignored her even worse than before. He had almost forgot of her entire existence, constantly pretending that they were not related at all. When he received an owl from his father announcing him that his aunt Sarah and his uncle Damian were going to join them for Christmas together with Claire and her younger brother Mark, John felt as if half of the universe had crushed in his head. He knew that Claire didn't took it well either, but he had at least not showed it off as much as him. He was asked by his father, or more like ordered, to take Claire with him when he was going to leave Hogwards. They were supposed to arrive home together. It was like a nightmare that didn't wanted to end. After the horrible fight in between them, they were expected to act as if nothing had happened. Their families knew nothing about them being almost worst enemies at school. His father would have hated to know that. Turning your back on the wizards was bad enough, but turning your back on your family was almost a crime and John knew it. He only hoped that Claire would cover up for him. Even if she was going to help or not, he still felt as if this was going to be the worst Christmas he was ever going to have. RE: Long Live - Claire Standish - 12 Dec 2011 Claire was deeply shocked and almost scared when she received the letter from her parents that told her they will spend their holidays in the mansion of John's parents. If she would have remade her relationship with John, this would have come like a great news, but they were nowhere near better. They were getting worse and worse. John himself had confirmed everything to be true, when she believed it was all a bad joke of her mother's. She hated her mom for this. Why did she suddenly had to miss her sister?! If it wasn't for her father also desiring to meet and talk some more to John's dad, Claire would have bitched big time about it. But she loved and respected her dad way too much to be able to actually say anything that would not match him wills and desires. She decided then and there that she was not going to make an idiot out of herself again in front of John. However, they were probably going to be forced to pretend they liked each other, since her family knew nothing about their problems. This already ringed in her head like a huge amount of shit ready to fall all over her. RE: Long Live - John Miller - 12 Dec 2011 John had continued to ignore Claire on the entire trip to home, pretending as if he wasn't even seeing her. She was doing the exact same so he wasn't feeling guilty at all. While staring out the window, he kept thinking about Ronnie. He was have given half of his life just to be able to spend this Christmas with her, not with his idiotic family and annoying cousins. His uncles were even worse. He was many times asking himself why was God so cruel with him. He was starting to actually believe that stuff that some people believed, about past lives and all that stuff. He probably had been a serial killer or some very big bastard some time in the past live to deserve all this shit that was happening in his current life. It was only when they actually got in front of his house that John looked at his cousin as if he was finally realizing she was there. "I still don't like you. And we are NOT gonna be friends. But we will pretend that we are as long as we're here. I know you're a good actress. I beg you, don't get me into worse problems. Please?" RE: Long Live - Claire Standish - 12 Dec 2011 Claire stared at John when the boy finally began talking to her. She listen to him closely and softly nodded her head. She knew that they were NOT gonna become friends after this, he didn't had to point it out that obviously. She decided not to talk much and just resume herself to what was needed to be said. "I promise not to get you into shit. The sight of uncle Leon beating the crap out of you in front of me is not what I want as a Christmas present, no matter how much I deslike you right now." she said, taking her eyes from John and looking up at the front door. RE: Long Live - John Miller - 12 Dec 2011 John looked at her and smiled. A soft and sad smile, but still. He knew that Claire knew him, if anything. And she knew his family. Well, it was her family as well but it didn't exactly matter. "Thanks..." so slowly and softly whispered, but he was sure she heard him. He knocked on the door powerfuly 2 or 3 times, before the maid of his house hurried to open up the door. She smiled brightly to him and greeted him, hurrying to take his and Claire's suitcases. "Would you like anything special to eat tonight, Young Master?" the girl asked politely. John rolled his eyes as soon as he heard her."Whatever is good, Marie, thanks... And stop calling me that, you know I hate it." he told her. He hated being called anything that sounded grand in any way. The girl apologized and left fast, telling them they were being waited in the living room. He exchanged a pair of looks with Claire and started walking together with her. He felt like a sheep that was heading towards death. RE: Long Live - Claire Standish - 12 Dec 2011 Claire had always admired the Mansion John's parents had. It was big and filled of antique objects. The furniture was beautiful and expensive, the decoration were looking dark yet elegant and interesting. He parents were rich too, but their house looked small and avarege compared to this place. She was seriously unable to understand how John was able to not be happy and proud about his family's fortune and social state. She knew that his parents were not the best, but still... She would have been proud none of the less. "Daddy!" she said happily, as soon as she saw her father. He smiled to her and opened up his arms, which made Claire run to him and give him a big and tight hug while he kissed her forhead. Her father stand about 6'1" in hight and he was a very beautiful man, even if he was in his early 40's. He had short, blond hair that always looked perfectly styled, a good body constructure and a elegant yet though attitude. She adored him to bits. Her mom was only 35 years old. She was very skinny, just as Claire and she had the natural red hair that the young witch had inherited. Claire knew she owe all her beauty to her mom, but even so, she still couldn't bring herself to love the woman quite as much as she loved her father. He was unique and amazing above all in her mind. RE: Long Live - John Miller - 12 Dec 2011 John watched Claire hugging her father with such big love. It was a pretty sight, of course, but it sicken him. He had never been that close to his father. Not even when he was very small. The thought of hugging or kissing his father made him feel like throwing up. But Claire seemed to be so happy about it... "Daddy's girl..." he softly said, rolling his eyes bored. "Be more sensitive, John. Some children actually DO love their parents." his father said, entering the room together with his mom. John looked at him for a second but then started looking away. He couldn't even stand looking at him for more than 5 seconds. His father was a lot taller and a lot stronger than him, but also, a lot more idiot. John hated the fact that he had his eyes, his nose, his lips and his body structure. He had different hair and eyes color, but the shape of almost every part of his body resembled his father, which kicked off the posibility of him being adopted. Which he would have desired so much. "Hey, dad..." he said, trying to be polite or something. He already hated deeply being there. RE: Long Live - Claire Standish - 12 Dec 2011 Claire left go of her father and looked at John, while her mother gave her a hug as well. Her cousin's relationship with his father didn't seem to have improved at all from when he was a kid. John still avoided looking up at his father and he still have some weird, scared reflexes whenever he was near him, like some sort of a traumatic effect. She felt sorry for him, all over again. Like she always used to feel when they were kids... "You two must be very tired after the trip. Why don't you go upstairs? You can change your cloths, maybe take a bath too... We'll call you down when dinner's ready." Claire's mom said. "That sounds great, mom, thanks." Claire said, giving her mom a fast kiss on the cheek. She grabbed John by the arm and started pulling him with her, dragging him up the stairs and into the room that she knew was his. She closed the door behind them and breathed calmly. They were there for only 20 minutes and she was already able to feel a big, thick cloud of tension floating in the air. "You and your dad seriously need to get a grip... I saw strangers who are more friendly and sensitive around each other compared to you too." she stated, looking at her cousin. RE: Long Live - John Miller - 12 Dec 2011 John was really thankful to Claire's mother for giving them the oportunity to get the Hell out of there. He was feeling as if he was running out of breath. He always felt that whenever he was close to his parents. He hated it, because he knew it wasn't normal. Deep inside, he wished he would have been as close to his mom and dad as Claire was, but he somehow knew it was never gonna happen. "Me and my dad will never get a grip so you get used to it. We ARE damn strangers. He doesn't know shit about me..." John said, while throwing himself in his bed. "You can hop in my bathroom and make a bath if you want. There is clean towels there for sure, our servants seemed to know we're coming. I will just sit here. I want to think..." RE: Long Live - Claire Standish - 12 Dec 2011 Claire looked at John without saying anything. She felt bad and stupid. She knew she couldn't understand him. She accepted his offer and went in the bathroom, stripping out of her cloths and getting in the shower. The warm water was relaxing and purifying, giving her a refreshed and more calm feeling. She kept thinking about what was she going to do. She will probably not be able to have fun there with her family while keep seeing John like that. She needed something. An idea, a plan... something. |
