Bell isi ridica privirile spre o fantoma care tocmai trecu prin ea; fusese o senzatie oribila, de parca cineva te'ar fi scufundat intr'o galeata cu apa inghetata.
"-Nick?" murmura Bell.
"-Domnita" raspunse fantoma, intorcandu'se. Era Nick-Aproape-Far'-de-Cap, fantoma casei cercetasilor.
"-Ce faci aici?" sopti cercetasa.
"-Pai..e camera fantomelor!" afirma Nick, cu un zambet de indignare.
"-Asa e..cum ar veni, casa dumneavoastra" replica Bell, zambind.

Fantoma aproba usor din cap, dupa care se inclina adanc si pleca; mereu se intampla asa, trebuia sa manifesti respect fata de el. Poate ca asa trebuia, dar Bell mereu izbucnea in ras. De data asta insa, nu lasa loc decat unui mic zambet. Durerea dinauntrul ei nu o lasa sa se bucure de micile placeri. Era prea complicat sa razi, dar in interiorul tau sa plangi.
