Respira adanc, continuand sa priveasca in gol. Lumina lunii mangaia usor intunericul din camera sa cu cateva raze argintii. Lasa ganduri tulburi sa o invaluie , laolalta cu emotii ce o patrundeau cu amorteala. Statea de ore intregi in felul acela, uitandu-se cum umbrele puneau incetul cu incetul stapanire peste incapere. Ofta prelung, dorindu-si ca somnul sa o rapuna in cele din urma. Insa stia ca nu se va intampla asta prea curand.
Auzi dintr-o data un bufnet din camera alaturata. Se ridica in capul oaselor, intrebandu-se cine nu mai avea somn in noaptea aceea. Sunetul pasilor urma apoi, aproape insesizabil; pasii se departau de dormitoarele Cercetasilor, urmand scara in spirala si coborand inspre Camera de Zi.
Se ridica de pe pat. Din cate se parea, cineva avea de gand sa paraseasca Turnul in noaptea aceea.
