Alice zâmbi mulþumitã când auzi rãspunsul elevei ºi zise:
-Pãi, Bell, e un rãspuns mult mai complet decât aº fi vrut. Mulþumesc multe pentru cã ne-ai amintit aceste informaþii despre vrajã. 10 puncte Cercetaºilor. Ia loc te rog! Azi vom vorbi despre vraja Protego sau Vraja scut. Aceastã vrajã provoacã intoarcerea asupra atacatorului o anume vrajã minorã sau nu, farmec, sau blestem, sau micºoreazã efectul vrãjilor. Deasemenea, formeazã un scut care iesã din bagheta celui care rosteºte incantaþia vrãjii. Vraja vine din limba latinã, de la verbul "protego" care înseamnã a proteja. Deasemenea, vraja poate fi folositã în alte douã forme: Protego Horribilis, o variantã mai puternicã a vrãjii, împotriva magiei negre. Cum am spus, protego înseamnã a proteja, iar horribilis înseamnã oribil, cu sensul de mãreþ, grandios, pentru a pune în evidenþã puterea mai mare a vrãjii. Iar cea de a doua vrajã, Protego Totalum, unde "totus" înseamnã ca un întreg, în latinã, ºi vraja protejeazã o anumitã zonã. În timp ce Alice vorbea, lecþia apãrea sub forma unei scheme pe tabla neagrã, iar elevii îºi luau notiþe.
